You may be eligible for membership in Phi Sigma Iota, the prestigious international foreign language honor society. Do you meet the eligibility requirements listed below? If so, please complete the application found in your e-mail or request an application from Dr. William R. Cummins or Paulina Trunzo, ptrunzo@ashland.edu. Send your completed form and an e-copy of your unofficial AU transcript to Dr. William R. Cummins at wcummins@ashland.edu before 12 noon Tuesday, January 21.
Applications will be reviewed and invitations to join sent out promptly. Membership fees of $35 will be due upon accepting the invitation to join. New members are required to attend the initiation ceremony in late February.
Eligibility Requirements:
Major in French, French PK-12, Spanish, Spanish PK-12 OR Minor in French, Spanish, Spanish for Education, Foreign Studies; Global Studies.
Junior or Senior status
Minimum GPA of 3.0 in your foreign language courses and minimum GPA of 3.0 at AU overall
One 300-level foreign language course already completed on campus at AU (Transfer students should have completed at least one year of study at AU before applying.)
