This Newsweek article from the end of April ranks the "common foreign languages" 10th in the list of 13 "most useful" college majors. This is great news that merits sharing with our students whenever they show an interest in majoring or demonstrate special language abilities.

*Useful, for our purposes,
is defined by majors most likely to lead to less unemployment and
higher earnings, and which are in industries projected to grow in the
next decade according to research from Georgetown University and data
from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
