Dr. Jean LeLoup, Spanish Professor, US Air Force Academy, was the guest speaker on March 27, 2012, for FL 380/636 (Foreign Language Education Curriculum & Instruction). LeLoup is the co-author of the text series, Anda, which has been adopted for use in Intermediate Spanish at A.U. She is the co-founder/moderator of FLTeach, a listserv for foreign language teachers, and the winner of numerous teaching, publication, and service awards. She publishes and presents on the integration of culture and the use of technology in foreign language instruction. She will be presenting the upcoming ACTFL Webinar on the use of the target language in the classroom.
The class session focused on maintaining the target language in the classroom and using FLTeach as a teaching resource.
Dr. LeLoup and Dr. Barbara Schmidt-Rinehart, Professor, Ashland University, have co-taught graduate courses abroad (Mexico, Venezuela, and Costa Rica) for U.S. teachers of Spanish since 1994. The next course takes place June 26-July 5 at Universidad Veritas, in San José.
